Simple and delicious, this is a great go to for a light dessert for your next dinner party. Some great uses would be as an Ice Cream topping, Crustini with Marscapone or layed over Cheesecake.
Altering the flavor is also very simple, we like to use Vanilla Balsamic but there are a few other flavors that work very well. Chocolate Dark Balsamic over Ice Cream or Cheesecake is a great pairing or for a more savory dish, try using Bourbon Dark Balsamic.
Caramelized Figs with Balsamic
These are great by themselves or layer them on top of Crustini with Marscapone for an elegant finger food.

Ingredients
- 12 fresh Figs, stems removed, halved or quartered lengthwise
- 2 Tbs Whiskey Walnut Sugar
- 1 Tbs Vanilla Dark Balsamic
Notes
Bourbon Dark Balsamic also works well with Vanilla Turbinado Sugar
Instructions
- Place Figs seeds side up in a skillet over high heat
- Sprinkle sugar on top
- Allow sugar to melt, about 3 - 5 minutes
- Flip Figs over in the pan and allow to brown for about another 3 minutes
- Turn off heat and drizzle Balsamic over the Caramelized Figs
- Serve either hot or at room temperature.
