Simple Candied Carrots
These sweet and slightly spicy carrots are a great weeknight side dish and are a great way to use that bag of frozen carrots sitting in the freezer.

Ingredients
- 16oz Frozen Carrot Slices
- 1/2 Cup Unsalted Butter
- 1/2 Cup Light Brown Sugar
- 1 Tsp Candied Habanero Sugar
- Pinch of Pacific Flake Sea Salt
Notes
If you choose to use Fresh Carrots, you will need to boil them in the water much longer to soften them to your liking.
Candied Habanero Sugar adds a subtle kick of spice, feel free to adjust the quantity to your spice preference.
Instructions
- Boil the carrots in a large pot with 1 cup of water for 3 - 5 minutes until they are soft and no longer frozen.
- Drain the water while leaving the carrots in the pot, stir in the balance of ingredients.
- Continue to heat the carrots over medium-high heat until the butter is fully melted.
- Allow the carrots to boil for 2 or 3 more minutes until you have a nice brown sugar glaze.
- Serve warm with a light sprinkle of the Candied Habanero Sugar on top.
