Lemon Oils have been popular throughout history dating back to millennial old Ayurvedic medicine. Hundreds of years ago the petite lemon tree was brought on ships by sailors to prevent scurvy and relieve conditions caused by bacterial infections. Today Lemon Essential Oil is found in many cleaning products and is also used for a variety of reasons ranging from anxiety to skincare and more! Please note that research on the health benefits of aromatherapy is limited and lemon oil is no different. There is some evidence of its benefits which make it a popular choice for many people seeking healthy, natural alternatives. Keep in mind that lemon essential oil can be irritating to the skin, and it is recommended that you do not apply it directly to skin unless mixed with a carrier such as fractionated coconut oil. Lemon essential oil and other citrus oils can cause photosensitivity if used before sun exposure. To prevent any negative reaction, limit the use of photosensitive oils to your bedtime routine, or if you must apply during the day apply only to areas that will be covered by a densely woven material.
