Shishito peppers are known for having a high vitamin C content. Additionally, they are loaded with manganese, potassium, vitamin K, and vitamin B6.They are typically not a very spicy pepper, it’s said that only about 1 in 10 are spicy but even then, it’s a light heat even though they are a member of the chile family.
We like to serve them as part of an appetizer tray with charcuterie or as a compliment to a grilled steak dinner.
Blistered Shishito Peppers
These peppers are a great compliment to a cheese and cracker plate or as a simple side dish with a steak dinner.

Ingredients
- 3 Cups Shishito Peppers
- 2 Teaspoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil or Avocado Oil
- Lemon Wedge
- Pacific Flake Salt, To Taste
Notes
For added flavor, use a flavored Oil like Lemon or Garlic.
Instructions
- Rinse peppers and pat dry. Transfer to a seal-able plastic bag with Oil. Toss to coat.
- Preheat a medium skillet over medium heat. You'll know when the pan is hot enough when a droplet of water sizzles and evaporates quickly in the pan.
- Add the peppers to the pan and let them cook, stirring and tossing them about every minute but not too often. The object is to let them blister on all sides. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Transfer peppers to a warmed serving plate, drizzle with lemon juice and add salt to taste.
