What’s a BBQ without this dish? This version is a sweet and sour blend of textures that are sure to impress with very little effort. You’ll taste the freshness that you simply won’t get with store bought salads.
4 Bean Salad
This salad is best when it's made up to 4 days in advance to give the flavors time to really soak in but you can make it in as little as 1 day ahead in a pinch. We like to use Cannellini Beans and cut the Kidney Beans to half the quantity to make a 5 Bean Salad but you can use virtually any beans that you fancy.

Ingredients
Dressing
- 1/2 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1/2 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
- 3/4 cup Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Pacific Flake Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Pennsylvania Pepper Blend (or Black Pepper)
- 1 tbs 25 Star Traditional Balsamic
- 1 tsp Ground Coriander
Salad
- 16 oz Fresh Green Beans
- 16oz Fresh Wax Beans
- 31 oz Canned Kidney Beans
- 15.5 oz Can Garbanzo Beans
- 1 Red Onion thinly sliced
- 3/4 cup Green Bell Pepper diced
- 3/4 cup Celery diced
Notes
In a pinch, you can use frozen green beans but fresh is always best. Feel free to mix up the types of beans that you want to use. Just remember that the longer it marinates, the better it will taste!
**If you are using Extra Virgin Olive Oil that is high quality, you may need to let the salad come to room temperature before serving due to the Olive Oil slightly solidifying in the cold temperatures of your refrigerator.
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil
- Rinse and cut Green Beans and Wax Beans into 1.5" pieces
- Cook Green Beans and Wax Beans in the water until just tender, rinse in a colander under cold water to stop the cooking process and set aside
- Empty the Kidney Beans and Garbanzo Beans in a colander and rinse under cold water
- In a large bowl, whisk together Dressing Ingredients until the sugar dissolves
- Add the beans, bell pepper, celery and onion to the bowl and mix together until well incorporated.
- Refrigerate for at least over nite.
